How to hang my gymnastic ring ropes from a tree?
To hang your gymnastic ring ropes from a tree branch, you will need:
- two webbing slings with loops (1 m – 1 T)
- two steel snap hooks (120 × 11)
Wrap two slings around the branch (40 cm apart) and attach a snap hook to each sling loop. Then attach the rings to each snap hook.
For safety reasons, make sure the tree branch is solid and can support at least 150 kg.
- The strength of the rope: material, diameter, anti-UV treatment, strength of the splice
Our ropes are made in France with polypropylene textured (imitation hemp) treated anti-UV diameter Ø12mm or Ø14mm. The splices are made by hand without adding plastic parts.
- The strength of the seat: material, thickness of the board, finish
The seat is made of solid regional oak wood and consists of three slats so that water can drain when it rains. The boards are 22mm thick and are reinforced by two transverse slats of support, which allows to support several hundred kilos.
- The strength of mounting accessories (rings and adjustment frames): material, size
The mounting accessories are made of ultra-resistant galvanized steel.
To use them, you only have one thing to do: hang them!
- Hook to a gantry: Fit the swing rings into gantries of the gantry
- Hook to a beam: screw two pigtail hooks into the beam with 40cm of gap and then insert the swing rings into the hooks
- Hook to a tree: Wrap two slings around your branch with 40 cm spacing then attach a snap hook to each loop of the sling. Then, attach the swing rings to each carabiner. (see image below)

For indoor, you can use both. For outdoor, prefer synthetic hemp.
Natural hemp, as its name suggests, is made exclusively from hemp fiber. It is very soft to the touch and does not burn hands with rubbing. It offers an authentic and rustic appearance and emits a slight smell that reinforces its natural effect.
Synthetic hemp is made from textured polypropylene fibres. It has the advantage of being UV-treated and resistant to weather and moisture, which makes it more durable in the long term. Its appearance and touch are a very good imitation of natural hemp.
There are two types of climbing rope: the knot rope and the smooth rope.
The knot rope is easier to climb because the knots provide a hook point and allow you to lean on with your feet, which significantly reduces the pull effort at the arms and shoulders. This rope is recommended for beginners and leisure activities.
The smooth rope is generally used in gyms and gyms by good athletes. The lack of knots makes it more difficult and technical to climb. It will require a lot of effort and allow to work well the arms, shoulders and back.
