Why a parallelogram shape?
In a staircase, the space to secure is inclined. The net is therefore made in a parallelogram shape to follow the slope of the steps and the handrail. This shape ensures even tension, a clean installation and optimal safety without gaps.
What dimensions should I choose?
The dimensions depend on your structure and your fixing method.
Option 1 – Direct fixing to the structure
You screw the pad eyes directly onto the edges of the net. For proper tension, we recommend a net 5 cm shorter than the opening.
Example: my frame measures 1.00 x 2.50 m → choose a net of 0.95 x 2.45 m.
Option 2 – Fixing with a lacing rope
A lacing rope connects the edges of the net to the structure, allowing you to adjust the tension. For this installation, we recommend a net 10 cm shorter in height and 15 cm shorter in length.
Example: my frame measures 1.00 x 2.50 m → choose a net of 0.90 x 2.35 m.
Advantage: provides better long-term tension.
Which mesh size should I choose?
The mesh selection is identical to our standard guardrail net.
- 30 mm mesh: Anti-climb net
Prevents children from putting arms or legs through the mesh and reduces the risk of small objects falling. - 45 mm mesh: Aesthetic guardrail
Denser mesh for a more design-oriented look while still allowing light through. - 100 mm mesh: Open mesh
More economical and lighter, this mesh allows better light flow.

1. Choose the frame shape
We offer several mezzanine net shapes:
-
Rectangle / Square
-
Round
-
Triangle
-
Right trapezoid
-
Isosceles trapezoid
-
Pentagon with 3 right angles
2. Provide the frame dimensions
You indicate the measurements of your opening to be covered.
We calculate the ideal net size by applying a suitable shrinkage rate. We make sure to reproduce a net shape that follows the angles of your structure.
Depending on the size of your structure and the mesh selected, the net will be 10% to 20% shorter than the dimensions you provide. This gives you enough margin to tension it properly.
After the first few days of use, your mezzanine net will stretch and will need to be tightened a second time. The gap between the net and the edges of the frame will be reduced. By having a sufficiently short net, you ensure enough margin so that your net remains taut and flat over the long term.
