Cat Netting
Our cat safety net prevents the risk of falls from balconies, terraces or windows. It is also used to prevent escapes from courtyards or gardens.
It is easy to install on balconies, terraces, windows, rooftops or around gardens, parks or outdoor courtyards. Our netting can also be used to protect skylights, fanlight windows, tilt windows or patio doors.
Our small mesh is perfect for kittens and rabbits, and also prevents birds from passing through.
- Net shape: RECTANGLE
Uses:
Fall protection
Falls from balconies, terraces or windows are a major cause of injury in cats. Fall protection netting helps prevent many accidents by covering gaps between railings and the space between the guardrail and the floor.
Easy to install, affordable and effective, balcony safety netting is an alternative to fall protection systems made of wire mesh, plexiglass, privacy screens or reed fencing.
Escape prevention
Ground-floor terraces, gardens and courtyards often give your cats the opportunity to escape.
To reduce the risk of them getting out, you can install netting above your fence and turn your garden into a large enclosure.
Benefits:
- Weather-resistant: UV-treated, rot-proof and solution-dyed to prevent fading over time
- Bite-resistant without damaging teeth, and resistant to claws and tears
- 100% recyclable
- More affordable and eco-friendly than protective systems made of wire mesh, plexiglass, privacy screens or reed fencing
- Allows air and light to pass through
- Minimal impact on visibility
- Helps reduce feelings of confinement
- Generally does not require a work permit from the town hall or condominium association
- Easy to install and remove
- Very durable
Our netting is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. This standard certifies that no chemical or toxic products are used in its manufacture. It is therefore completely safe for cats to come into contact with.
What size should I order?
We recommend pulling the netting taut. To achieve the right tension, the length and width of the net should be about 5 cm shorter than the dimensions of the frame it will be installed on.
Example: for a 4 x 1.50 m frame, order a 3.95 x 1.45 m net.
Which color should I choose?
White is very discreet and creates a transparent effect.
Black is more visible to birds.
Camel creates a natural look that is very on-trend.
How do I install the net?
There are several ways to attach it.
In general, you will need a support and fastening system strong enough to withstand your cat's weight. The attachment system must keep the net taut.
Support accessories:
- Steel cable
- PVC support
- Wooden support
Fastening accessories:
- Wall plugs
- Fixing screw / hook
- Anchor bolt
- Staples
Attachment accessories:
- String
- 3 mm cord
- Wire
- Cable ties / zip ties
- Turnbuckle with eye + hook
- U-bolt cable clamp
Tips & tricks
To discourage your cat from playing with or climbing the net, set up some toys near it. For example, you could make a DIY cat tree using our sisal rope!
1. Choose the frame shape
We offer several mezzanine net shapes:
-
Rectangle / Square
-
Round
-
Triangle
-
Right trapezoid
-
Isosceles trapezoid
-
Pentagon with 3 right angles
2. Provide the frame dimensions
You indicate the measurements of your opening to be covered.
We calculate the ideal net size by applying a suitable shrinkage rate. We make sure to reproduce a net shape that follows the angles of your structure.
Depending on the size of your structure and the mesh selected, the net will be 10% to 20% shorter than the dimensions you provide. This gives you enough margin to tension it properly.
After the first few days of use, your mezzanine net will stretch and will need to be tightened a second time. The gap between the net and the edges of the frame will be reduced. By having a sufficiently short net, you ensure enough margin so that your net remains taut and flat over the long term.
